About Patty Mowry

I have worked for Gershman since 1984. I started in the Servicing Department in Investor Accounting and then transferred to the Bankruptcy & Foreclosure Department where I worked until the Servicing side was sold. In 2001, I moved to originations. Since 2001,I have worked in processing, closing and also as a Loan Manager for TR Hughes Home Mortgage.

I began working for the TPO department in 2016. We have a great team that works well together and each person provides their own unique perspective, which contributes to the success of our team. I am glad that I am a part of the team and get to work closely with my co-workers and our TPO Partners. My longevity can be contributed to the fact that I have been able to change departments numerous times and experience different aspects of the mortgage business. I have not been doing the same job over and each day is a challenge based on ever-changing guidelines.

What are the biggest changes you’ve witnessed in the mortgage industry over your 40 years of experience?

The biggest change is everyone having their own computers. When I started, the department would share a computer. Technology has changed so much; everything used to be on paper and now so much can be done remotely and online. As time has gone on, everyone has gained the ability to be able to contribute and share their ideas to make improvements.

How do you overcome challenges that you face in your career?

I believe that no one in this company can solve any problem on their own. We work as a team to figure out the best way to solve a problem. I don’t overcome challenges on my own either, I rely on the support of my teammates at Gershman to work as a cohesive unit to solve issues.

What keeps you motivated and engaged in your work, even after such a long and successful career?

During my career, I have worked in almost every department at Gershman, including ones that we don’t even have anymore (servicing, for example). I have worked in the TPO department for the last 8 years. I find it motivating to work with many different loan officers and provide them with guidance on the many different government products we work with.
