Employee Spotlight: Tracy Hinton

Meet Vice President and Branch Manager, Tracy Hinton! Tracy has been married to the love of her life, Lee for almost 10 years and they have been together for nearly 20 years. Tracy has two children, Kylie and Kellen, and two step children, Kaleb and Kamryn….Along with two grandchildren, Sofia and Alivia!

When Tracy is not working, she enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family. She loves the beach, sun and anything to do with summer!

Tracy says, “When I started in the industry back in 1997, we had to manually credit grade all files as we had no computers.  All of our loan apps, GFE’s and disclosures were handwritten including calculating the TIL by hand.  I originated my first loan and submitted my file to underwriting, I was so excited when I received my conditional approval! I called to schedule the closing and found out after scheduling closing that there were conditions that needed to be satisfied before we could close. I had no clue what conditions were at the time so of course I was pretty embarrassed when I had to call the client and explain that I needed additional items and had to push the closing.  Thankfully the client was understanding to the fact I was a newbie in the mortgage business.  I learned quickly how to actually read a conditional approval/approval letter.” Now, Tracy is among Gershman Mortgage’s top producers!

Her favorite family tradition is celebrating birthdays at Shogun (Japanese Steakhouse), this tradition started when her youngest was around 7 years old…everyone had such a great time and the kids thought it was really entertaining! From her youngest grandchild to her oldest child, when asked where they want to go for a birthday celebration, it is always Shogun!

Tracy is more than a branch manager, she is an amazing mentor. She has so much knowledge and experience that she willingly shares whenever we come across a unique scenario. Sometimes I just sit in my office and listen to her talking to customers/agents and pick up new ideas. No matter how busy she is with her own work and her own customers, she always makes time to listen and help any of us, anytime of day. She provides exceptional customer service and that trickles down to how everyone in our branch approaches our work.
